45 DEGREES

By Victoria Magnano & Kévin Rodallec (France)

he garden, '45 Degrees' is an invitation to explore the “garigue and maquis” scrubland landscape. A sloping capsule welcomes visitors and leads them on a sensory journey through a succession of plant environments. Colourful patches and numerous scents stimulate the senses throughout the visit. The garden is decorated with a sparkling chair, insect hotels and fun and educational panels to inform and raise awareness of walkers. The route through the garden depends on the individual, however, a coloured tunnel with geometric shapes draws the eye to a main route made of sawdust, leading the visitor to traverse the entire length of the space. This path crosses a 45° sloping wooden decking that allows the visitor to explore this landscape in a crosswise manner.

At the end of this experience, the visitor encounters a hidden door behind a mirror, opening onto the sea and its infinite vistas. Numerous interplays of frames, transparency, light and shadow break with traditional perspectives. You will not be disappointed!
