This is a wonderful story all about perfume and family... The story began in Grasse in 1926, when Eugène Fuchs opened a perfumery under the name Fragonard, in tribute to the famous painter from Grasse. The Fuchs and Costa families developed the company through the generations. The first premises has now been transformed into a factory and there are three different sites open to the public, where visitors can come and unveil the secrets of how our perfumes are made, and learn about the history of the perfumery. The women of the family also got involved in the family business: Anne, Agnès and Françoise Costa, joined their father at a very young age at the helm of the company to keep the business going, broadening their horizons along the way: lifestyle, fashion, accessories and exclusive gifts. Since its creation, the Fragonard perfumery has always been involved in promoting the French Riviera, the Pays de Grasse and know-how in the world of perfumes. It is only natural that Fragonard has been a partner of the Festival des Jardins every year since 2017, and will be once again for the 2023 edition on the theme of "Surprising Perspectives”.
Arkopharma was founded in 1980 and is based in Carros in the Alpes-Maritimes. It is a pharmaceutical laboratory whose mission is to promote natural medicine, advocating for medical care that is respectful of the body, its balances and environment.
Arkopharma is a French and European leader in herbal medicine and has its own R&D department and industrial site. This industrial site is the biggest site in Europe producing herbal medicine, and boasts the most demanding of certifications (GMP, ISO 22000, ISO 13485, ISO 45001) to guarantee high quality and safety for the research, development and production of dietary supplements, medication, cosmetics and medical devices.
Arkopharma’s team of botanists and buyers purchase plants with great healing benefits from fair-trade organisations in France and all over the world. The Research and Development teams then use these plants to develop plant-based pharmaceutical products (only using natural ingredients), that are both effective and natural. Arkopharma is also an environmentally responsible company, firmly rooted in its region where it strives to combine the economic, environmental and societal aspects. Arkopharma produces French manufactured products, and even better, products that are made right here on the French Riviera, at its production site in Carros, the biggest herbal medicine site in Europe, and 50% of production is exported. Arkopharma is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by reducing packaging, energy consumption (10% less), and also takes care of the well-being of its employees by encouraging physical activity and monitoring closely the quality of working conditions.
Arkopharma is proud to be associated with the Festival des Jardins de la Côte d’Azur as they share the same values: nature, well-being and environmentally responsible behaviour. As a sponsor, the Arkopharma group is also proud to be involved in and support a project that is committed to sustainable development and the fight against climate change.
