The garden, like a painting, begins with a blank canvas. Still stretched in the vertical position, it still waits for the first brushstroke.
The garden, like a painting, begins with a blank canvas. Still stretched in the vertical position, it still waits for the first brushstroke. We invite you to enter into the garden like a work of arts in the horizontal way, alive.
In the Matisse’s way, the garden is imagined like a collage on a large sheet of paper. Tinted with blue, the vegetation reflects the azure of the Mediterranean. The color is reminiscent of Yves Klein and his Anthropometries. Here, it is not the visitors who are invited to put the imprint of their bodies on the canvases, but the plants themselves, through a photographic process: the cyanotype. Following the example of the botanists of yesteryear who made plant impressions in situ, the canvases are transformed into an open-air herbarium. And as if the fabrics had flown away, the ceramic leaves planted in the garden evoke regional craftsmanship and its new generation.
The human and vegetal co-creation is the fruit of an incessant dialogue between the artist and the living.
