CAGNES-SUR-MER
The commune of Cagnes-sur-Mer, a town of more than 50,000 inhabitants, is located on the Mediterranean coast and has a rich historical and cultural heritage, particularly with its fishing village, Grimaldi castle and the Renoir Museum. The town has established itself as a tourist resort. Its geographical location between the sea and the mountains, its history as a fishing village and the presence of painters in the 20th century have all contributed to its reputation, with a wide-ranging programme of development centred on the quality of life of its inhabitants, based on the regeneration of the Cagne River, the creation of numerous parks and gardens and the greening of the area.
