UN PONT ENTRE DEUX RIVES (A BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO SHORES)

This garden is a poetic representation of the twinning between Cannes, a city on the French Riviera, and Shizuoka, a Japanese city located on theisland of Honshū where one hundred and thirty waterways wind through the city. 

On the embankment in the background the Japanese city of Shizuoka with Mount Fuji in the background and downhill rivers will become a single river (made of blue crushed glass and blue pansies) flowing between green hills to end under a Japanese bridge is evoked. 

On one side of the bridge towards the embankment, the Japanese garden can be explored, and on the other side, the gardens of Cannes, hence the name, a bridge between two shores, one French, the other Japanese.  

Beyond the bridge, the river of flowers will fall into an anamorphosis representing an abyss.
